AFLW Fantasy tells you what every coach in the country owns. It never tells you what the handful of people in your own head-to-head league own, and that is the only ownership number that has ever decided one of your matchups. Fantasy Lens works out the second number.
The number AFLW Fantasy doesn't give you
Open the AFLW Fantasy stats centre and you get competition ownership: the share of all coaches holding a player. It is a genuinely useful number if your goal is your overall rank. It is close to worthless if your goal is beating the person you are drawn against on Saturday.
Say you're in a ten-team league and you own two players with identical scoring. One is owned by 62% of the competition but only 2 of the 10 teams in your league. The other is owned by 14% of the competition but 8 of the 10 teams in your league. Every public AFLW Fantasy tool will tell you the first is the crowd pick and the second is the rare differential. Inside your league it's the reverse: the first is a genuine point of difference that eight rivals lack, and the second gains you nothing because almost everyone has it. The public number inverts the decision.
The whole product in one sentence: global ownership answers "am I like everyone else?", league ownership answers "am I going to lose on Saturday?", and only one of those is on your ladder.

How AFLW Fantasy leagues actually work
A quick refresher, because the league format is what makes rival ownership matter so much more in AFLW than in a pure rank chase.

Note how much that range matters. In a 20-team league, a player owned by three rivals is a genuine differential. In a small league, a player owned by three rivals is effectively compulsory. The same ownership percentage means completely different things at different league sizes: which is exactly why a competition-wide percentage can't help you, and why every number Fantasy Lens shows is scaled to your league's actual size.
2026 season note: the AFLW season opens Sunday 9 August with St Kilda v Carlton at Marvel Stadium, in an AFL/AFLW double-header for Spud's Game. The remaining eight Round 1 matches are played across 13–16 August. Capture your league after the first lockout and your trade history starts from Round 1.
Capturing your AFLW Fantasy league
There is no scraper to install, no browser extension, and no account to connect. You capture your own league by looking at it, the same way you already do every round.
- Drag one bookmark to your bookmarks bar, once. The same button works for AFLW Fantasy and AFL SuperCoach; it detects which site you're on.
- Click it after lockout with your league open. Using your own signed-in session, it asks the AFL Fantasy site for the same league data the site already serves you, roughly one request per team, and downloads one small file.
- Drop the file into the app. The round number fills itself in. Every snapshot stacks onto the last, so your trade history gets richer every week.
We never ask for your login details. Fantasy Lens has no login field for any fantasy competition and no mechanism to connect your account. Not as a policy, but structurally. There is nowhere for a credential to go.
AFLW Fantasy questions
Doesn't AFLW Fantasy already show ownership?
It shows competition ownership: every coach playing the game. It does not show ownership inside your private head-to-head league, and there is no way to get that number out of the official site short of opening every rival team every round and writing them down by hand. That manual process is what Fantasy Lens replaces.
Will the rest of my league know I'm using it?
There's nothing for them to find. Fantasy Lens doesn't post anywhere, doesn't touch your league's page and doesn't publish or share your data. Your rivals' rosters are already visible to you after lockout, this reads what you can already see and does the arithmetic. The advantage stays yours.
Do I have to enter player stats, prices or averages?
Never. Averages, prices and recent form are identical for everyone, so we refresh the whole AFLW player database centrally after each round. You only capture the one thing unique to you: who owns whom in your league.
Can I start mid-season?
Yes. Ownership, gap closers, PODs and trade intel all work from your very first capture. Trade history builds from the rounds you've captured, so it deepens each week you play. Bank tracking isn't affected either. AFLW captures carry each team's remaining salary directly, so you get precise banks from whenever you start.
Is AFLW Fantasy priced separately from SuperCoach?
Yes, deliberately. They're separate seasons, so they're separate purchases at A$24.99 each, buy only the competition you actually play. It's a season pass, not a subscription that quietly rolls over in the off-season.
Is this allowed?
The capture is user-initiated and deliberately small: at your instruction it asks the AFL Fantasy site for the same league data the site already serves your browser, using your own signed-in session, roughly one request per team in your league. There's no automated crawling, no historical scraping and no credential handling. Facts and statistics aren't copyrightable in Australia, and everything we charge for is our own derived analysis.
