Privacy policy
Fantasy League Lens is built on the promise that your league data works for you and goes nowhere else. This page is that promise written out properly, in the order it actually matters.
The short version. We hold your email address, your league captures, your account and payment status, and a limited record of how you found us. We do not sell any of it, we do not share it with your league, and we do not pool league captures across users to build a database of who owns what. You can delete your account and league captures at any time. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, we retain only the suppression record needed not to email you again.
What we collect
Your email address
Collected when you create an account, and separately if you subscribe to our newsletter. You can sign in with a password or ask for a one-time email link. Password authentication is handled by Supabase. We do not store your password in our application database.
You can also sign in with your Google account. If you do, Google confirms who you are and passes us your email address, your name and your profile picture address. We use the email address as your account, exactly as if you had typed it in. We do not use the name or the picture, we never see your Google password, and we cannot read your Gmail, contacts, calendar or files. We ask Google for nothing beyond that basic profile. If the address on your Google account already has a Fantasy League Lens account, Google signs you in to that account. You can remove our access at any time from the security settings of your Google account, and your Fantasy League Lens account keeps working with a password or an email link.
Your league captures
When you use the capture tool, it reads the rosters of the teams in your fantasy league from a page you are already looking at, and stores the result against your account. That is player names, team names, round numbers, and where the competition provides it, prices, completed head-to-head results, remaining trades and remaining salary. It is the same information every member of your league can already see on the competition's own website.
Your Account page can show the current full-season league position, wins, losses and win rate from the latest competition-page capture. Separately, the Competition record tracks only post-signup results and excludes every result already present when tracking begins, so we do not backfill earlier rounds. For private product-performance measurement, we keep only those prospective win, loss and draw totals for each tracked league. Team names, opponents, scores, players and ownership are not copied into that summary. We may later publish a combined percentage across users, but never an individual's record.
Your account status
Whether you are on the free or paid tier, and when your leagues were last updated. If you activate the one-time Premium trial, we store its competition, start time and expiry so it works across devices and cannot be restarted. If you buy a season pass, payment is handled by our payment provider and we never see or store your card details.
How you found us
When you visit Fantasy League Lens through an advertisement or campaign link, we may record the campaign information included in that link. This can include the source, marketing channel, campaign name, search term or audience, the advertisement or creative, a Google or Meta click identifier, the page where you arrived, and when you arrived.
We keep this information in your browser while you look around the site. If you create an account, we save a copy privately against that account. We use it to understand which advertisements, campaigns and landing pages lead to registrations and to improve our marketing. It does not record your browsing history or activity on other websites.
This information does not come from your league captures and does not include your fantasy activity, competition login details, team names, player names, opponents, scores, ownership information, trades, remaining salary or recommendations. We do not automatically send your registration or league information back to Google, Meta or another advertising platform.
What we do not collect
We never ask for your fantasy competition login details. Your Fantasy League Lens account is separate. The capture runs inside your signed-in browser session, reading rendered pages for SuperCoach or requesting the same league data the AFL Fantasy site serves to your browser.
We do not run third-party advertising trackers, third-party analytics pixels, or behavioural profiling of any kind.
Where it lives
The capture tool downloads a file to your device. It is saved to our Supabase database when you sign in to Fantasy League Lens and load it into the app. Your account leagues then follow you between devices. A local-only copy is not automatically imported into an account. The site itself is hosted by Vercel.
Both providers act as processors on our behalf and may store or serve data outside Australia. Row level security is enabled on every table, which means the database itself enforces that one account cannot read another account's leagues.
Cookies and local storage
We use local storage in your browser to retain your sign-in session, cache account-specific league data, remember which league you had open, and retain campaign information from a tagged link. The cloud database is the source for your account leagues; a browser cache is not a guarantee of offline access. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Email: two separate lists
These are deliberately kept apart. Subscribing to one never subscribes you to the other, and leaving one never affects the other.

Personalised alerts
We are building an optional alert that tells you when a player in your own team is ruled out. It is off by default and will require you to switch it on explicitly, separately from the newsletter. It is not running yet and no such email has ever been sent. When it does launch, this page will say so before the first one goes out, and turning it off will stop us processing your league data for it, not merely stop the sending.
What we will never do
Three commitments, worth stating plainly because they are the ones that would be tempting to break later.
- We will not share your league data with your league. Nothing you capture is published, posted, or made visible to the other people you play against. The whole point of the product is that the advantage stays with you.
- We will not pool league captures across users. Combining everyone's captures would produce a cross-league ownership dataset. We are not building one, and we will not sell or publish one.
- We will not sell your email address or your data to anyone, for any purpose.
How long we keep it
League captures stay until you delete them or delete your account. Trial status and account acquisition information stay until you delete your account. The trial status remains after its expiry so the one-time offer cannot be restarted. Campaign information held only in your browser stays there until you clear the site's local storage. Newsletter subscriptions stay until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only the record needed to make sure we do not email you again. Records we are legally required to retain, such as tax records for a purchase, are kept for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of everything we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your account and its league captures
- stop sending you any email
Deleting a league inside the app deletes it from our database, not just from your screen. The Account page lets you unsubscribe, change your password and delete your account; deletion removes your leagues and retains only any legally required records and newsletter suppression record described above. Email privacy@fantasyleaguelens.com for anything you cannot do yourself and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Security, honestly stated
Access is per account and enforced by the database. If you choose Google sign-in, Google checks your identity and we never receive your Google password. If you choose password sign-in, Supabase handles authentication; your password is not stored in our application database. No system is perfectly secure, and it would be dishonest to claim otherwise. If we ever have a breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Children
Fantasy League Lens is not intended for children under 15. We do not knowingly collect their information, and we will delete it if we find we have.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your league data, we will email account holders before it takes effect rather than quietly republishing the page.
